Many people start up a Civic Society either because they want to protect the character and beauty of their local environment or to create a strong local voice that will help safeguard their economic and social interests of in the face of rapid growth. Ultimately every Civic Society sets out to carry out activities and projects that seek to enhance the quality of lives of local people, by caring for their environment.
Despite the best intentions and effort, most people often find the first steps of setting up an organization of any kind, quite daunting. This starter pack aims to help all such people. It will be of most use if you are in the planning stages of, or have recently started your civic society. This pack is designed to help both new and existing groups and organisations of all sizes.
