Fundraising

Developing a mix of funding sources will make your organisation stronger. All types of fundraising involve establishing and maintaining relationships. To be successful you need to understand and fulfil your donors' motivations, whether your donor is a charitable foundation, a commercial company or an individual.
 
There are many sources of information on fundraising issues, including the umbrella groups mentioned elsewhere on this site. The following organisations have useful publications and are good first points of contact. You should also keep up to date with the voluntary sector press for news about funding.

Heritage Lottery Fund
The Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) was set up by Parliament in 1994 to give grants to a wide range of projects involving the local, regional and national heritage of the United Kingdom.
